Natural Hazards: Hurricanes

This weeks lab brought awareness to the applicability of GIS in regards to natural hazards such as hurricanes. The first map is a rendition of the path that Hurricane Sandy took in 2012 when it wreaked havoc on the eastern coast of the United States. The map displays the data for 29 different locations amongst the path of the storm, giving the wind speed and barometric pressure when it was present in that location.
The second creation I was tasked with is a damage analysis of an area on Ocean City beach in New Jersey. I used before and after aerial photos in order to classify the damage ranging form no impact to destroyed.
