This has been my first introduction and hands on experience when it comes to GIS. I have learned about what it is and what it does, but being able to actually use arcGIS and create something has brought more clarity as to what GIS is. We were given instructions to follow which allowed us to create a map that displayed countries by population. After constructing the data we were given the opportunity to enhance the visuals of the map by adding content such as legends and scales. Changing the colors of the map created more contrast and visual appeal. Overall, the assignment was interesting, I enjoyed having the class time to work on the lab and having the instructors available if I needed assistance. I look forward to bettering my skills and proficiency in arcGIS.
