This week we were tasked with utilizing data from the nation’s capital to perform a crime analysis. The data comes from the DC Metropolitan Police Department and is compiled yearly into a database available for download at data.dc.gov.
I had to use geocoding skills in order to find missing addressing info for police stations. Graphs and reports were created as a visual aid. Multiple Ring Buffers were used to establish a crime density within the area of the police stations.
