GIS Day

While I had planned originally to attend the GIS day that ECUA was hosting. Those plans got turned upside down when my pregnant wife got admitted to the hospital to be induced! So instead of being able to go and enjoy some hands on activities in person. I resorted to the good ol' interweb to see what as going on around the world. (Don't worry, I was present and accounted for during the whole experience)

I searched one of my favorite subreddits (https://www.reddit.com/r/gis/) in order to find out what some of the happenings of that day was. There were plenty of discussion of what GIS professionals were doing that day such as cake map contest, map naming, and there appeared to even be some large public events in larger metro areas.

Since I was in the middle of talking my wife through contractions, I didn't have much time to get overwhelmingly hands on. When she was able to fall asleep(short naps)I was playing some geoguessing games. Not necessarilly map making by any means, but it was a fun game that involved some Geography. https://geoguessr.com/world/play

I hope next year I will be able to partake a little more!
